Neal F. Banton, Jamestown, IN, age 81, passed away January 24, 2012. He was born in Bedford, VA on May 24, 1930, and attended school in Lynchburg, VA, graduating in 1949.
He owned Neal's Phillips 66 Service Station at 38th Street & Moller Road from 1969 to 1978. He had also worked at GMAC in Indianapolis, Allison Transmission Division, GMC, and Yeager Petroleum in Brownsburg. He retired in 1989.
He was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951-1954 during the Korean War era and was a life member of the Elks Lodge #635 of Lebanon, IN.
He married Marianne Kersey in 1978 and she survives. He is also survived by two children, Valerie Swift of Indianapolis and Steve Banton of Greenfield, two grandchildren, Jared and Laura Banton of Greenfield and 4 nieces.
