Max Newton, 93 years old of Indianapolis, IN, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Methodist Hospital.

He was born August 27, 1918 in North Judson, IN son of the late Lonnie and Stella Jewel Davies Newton.

He married Imogene Robison in 1934. She preceded him in death in 1997.

He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge #200 of Hazelrigg.

He owned Newton Sight & Sound Television Sales & Service in Advance, Indiana.

Surviving are son, James Newton of Bloomington, IL, grandchildren, Jeannette (Simon) Whittle of Westfield, Ryan (Jenna) Newton of Bloomington, IL, William (Phyllis) Newton of Indianapolis, Jessica (Kent) Jones of Riley, Patricia (Randy) Phillips of Thorntown, and Robert (Kim) Newton of Crawfordsville, step-granddaughter, Terri (Bob) Henderson of Crawfordsville, 13 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and 2 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Dale Newton, Samuel Max Newton, Jr and William Lonnie Newton and grandson, Roger Newton.

Friends will be received Sunday, February 19, 2012 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, Indiana. A Masonic service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, with the funeral service to follow.
