Sue Ann Whitaker (Barnhart) Searcy, 67 years old of, Indianapolis, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at her residence.

She was born August 12, 1944 in Roachdale, IN, daughter of the late William Robert and Emma Jane Pitman Whitaker.

She married James R Searcy on January 14, 1995 in Indianapolis. He survives.

She was a member of Roachdale Baptist Church and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in North Salem.

Sue worked several years at Jackie's Restaurant in Roachdale and retired in 2000 as a clerical assistant for the Indiana Department of Correction.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna (John) Learned of North Salem, son, Donnie (Julie) Barnhart of Quincy, MI, step-son, Fred (Sherri) Searcy of Indianapolis, step-daughters, Sherry Cheek and Kelly (Bruce) Fourman, both of Indianapolis, brother, James Robert (Norma) Whitaker of Roachdale, sisters-in-law, Esther Searcy and Wanita Searcy Northern, both of Indianapolis, 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Sunday, March 4, 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, North Salem, Indiana.

Services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Cline officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem, Indiana.
