Charles Emerson Young, 79 years old of Danville, IN, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at his residence.

He was born September 2, 1932 in Indianapolis, IN, son of the late Emerson and Pansey Sullivan Young.

He graduated from Washington High School.

He married Shirley Jean Cox on February 3, 1956. She survives.

Charles served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

He retired from Unipak as a plant manager.

Surviving are son, Kenny L Young of Indianapolis, daughters, Angie D Gardner of Indianapolis and Stacey L (Mark) Davidson of Crawfordsville, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Monday, March 26, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Floral Park Funeral Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Jessee Cox officiating.

Interment will follow in the Floral Park.
